This is mud pits and cargo nets. Crawl tunnels and a wall you have to get over. Water you have to get through, with your dog charging right beside you. It is one chaotic, unforgettable day where ordinary dog owners become a team with their dog and find out what they are made of, then cross the finish line into a full-blown festival at Topsail Island Brewing. Run it. Crawl it. Conquer it. Together.
We are not doing what everyone else does. We are building the largest dog obstacle course run this state has ever seen, and we are doing it for a reason bigger than any of us.
Every dollar raised at Mutts, Mud & Mayhem goes to K9s United, a nonprofit that provides free training and life-saving equipment to police K9s and the handlers who depend on them. These dogs run toward the threats the rest of us run from. They take the risk so a human does not have to.
Ridgeside K9 was built on working dogs. We know what these K9s give, and we know the gear that keeps them alive is expensive and never guaranteed. So we are turning a day of mud and mayhem into ballistic vests, training, and protection for the dogs on the front line. You get the best day of your year. They get to come home.
Free K9 training for departments that cannot afford it.
Protective vests and life-saving equipment for working dogs.
Support for the handlers and the dogs who serve our communities.
A course designed for two-legged and four-legged athletes to take on as a team. Some obstacles you conquer together. Some you tackle solo while your dog cheers you through. Every one of them is a story you will tell for years.
The one everybody talks about. You are going in. So is the dog. Embrace it.
Up and over. Grip, breathe, go. Your dog runs the ramp beside you.
Low, dark, and a little wild. Dogs love these. You will too, eventually.
Through it, not around it. Cool off and keep moving.
The agility classic, scaled up. Teamwork over the top.
Climb, leap, repeat. Simple to look at. Humbling to finish.
Steady feet and a steady dog. Focus wins this one.
Every great course has one. You will get over it. We will make sure of it.
Twenty-plus obstacles across the grounds, with surprises we are not spoiling yet.
This is the team you were meant to be. One leash. One mission. One filthy, glorious finish line.
Every dog, every human, every fitness level has a place on this course. You decide how hard you want to go.
The run is only half of it. The finish line at Topsail Island Brewing Company turns into a festival built for dogs and the people who love them.
Special guests to be announced. Follow Ridgeside K9 for the reveal, because you are going to want to be in the room when these names drop.

The name on the event. Top billing everywhere, the obstacle of your choice, and the spotlight all day.
Brand an obstacle as your own. Every runner who conquers it remembers your name.

No. Plenty of people run solo or with friends. But this is built for dog-and-human teams, and running it with your dog is the whole magic. No dog, no problem, you will still have the day of your life.
Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, in good health, and under control on a leash or by reliable command. This is a high-energy environment with lots of dogs and people, so dogs that are not comfortable in crowds or are reactive toward other dogs are not a good fit for the course. Final dog guidelines come with your registration confirmation.
No. The Mayhem wave is untimed and you can take any obstacle at your pace or skip it entirely. Push as hard or as easy as you want. The point is to show up and have fun for a great cause.
Drop your info in the form above to get on the early list. You will be the first to receive registration, pricing, and wave times before they go public. Every dollar goes to K9s United.
A full festival at Topsail Island Brewing Company: cold beer, food trucks, live music, a vendor village, dog contests, special guests, and an awards ceremony. The run is half the day. The party is the other half.
It is called Mutts, Mud and Mayhem for a reason. We plan to run rain or shine. In the event of unsafe weather, registrants will be notified directly with the plan.
